"Education is the most powerful weapon which you can use to change the world."
Nelson Mandela
The Cleanwave Education program is based on EMOTIONAL EDUCATION. The activities foster positive emotions and reactions. Most importantly, we prioritise personal well-being, because only in this way can we expect positive action towards the environment. Emotions are the engine that moves society. Ultimately, it is through our emotions that we are motivated to act, and we use these workshops to encourage children, adolescents and adults to act in a positive way towards the natural world.
In 2018, Cleanwave Education launched its first school program, called “Plastics Fora”, which set out to connect children to the environmental impacts of single-use plastic waste.
From 2018 – 2020 more than 150 workshops have been held, and over 5000 children across the Balearic Islands have benefitted from our workshops.
Pilar Gomez is the creative mind behind the Cleanwave Education program. She creates children’s workshops which speak to the heart of each child. With over 20 years of experience working with Emotional Education tools, Pilar fills her workshops with fun, laughter, storytelling and her own touch of magic. She connects the children to their own inner emotions and helps them understand that within each and every child, lies a magician.
Pilar works with a number of trained freelance educators who share the overall Cleanwave Education purpose of connecting people to nature.

We believe that in order to protect and regenerate the natural world, we must first believe that we can. Our ALGA-CADABRA workshops focus on connecting children to their inner magician, and once they recognise their power - they can truly contribute to preserving, restoring and regenerating the environment.⠀⠀

The workshop works through relevant themes and interactive activities adapted to this age-group, where they will be able to identify healthy and toxic relationships between friends-couples-relatives and also with nature. ‘PLÀSTICS FORA’ Community Initiative
Fun eco-activities for the whole municipality.
The ‘Plastics Fora’ Community Initiative is an extension of Cleanwave’s commitment to help build a single-use plastic free society. Engaging the town councils at a local level is the most effective way to access local resident communities.
Through a day of fun and games, where the whole community is invited to take part and engage, the project mobilises and engages the community through workshops, games and fun activities, with the aim of raising awareness of single-use plastic consumption and our joint efforts in protecting and regenerating the environment.
By integrating local community “hubs” such as schools, libraries, theaters etc. the ‘Plastics Fora’ Community initiative is an extension of our existing school program, our drive to install public water fountains across the islands, and to promote and service plastic free events.

You are the boss!
Workshops for employees and workers.
Training workshops for employers and workers to raise awareness and facilitate the incorporation of new public and private policies in the reduction of single-use plastics in the workplace.
We believe that we can only act on issues that we feel passionate about or have an emotional connection to. And so our workshops for employees help the entire company adapt to change - not just simply substituting the objects - but truly understanding the purpose and meaning behind these regulations. This will shift the attitude of the employees to embrace the issue, and impact the way in which they relate to clients.
"YOU are the boss!" workshop encourages employees to become aware of the need for change and at the same time understand the important role they play as protagonists of change, and the impact this will have on their environment and on the future of the Mediterranean.
We also offer a 20 minute screening of the documentary 'Out of Plastic' which reveals the reality of plastic pollution across the Balearic Islands.
